A Midsummer Night's Dream
Costume and Makeup Design by Caitlin Quinn
Directed by Madeline Sayet
The South Dakota Shakespeare Festival

Production Details: This was an outdoor production with a modern-inspired but non-specific time period. Many of the costumes were dyed to be more colorful. Titania and Oberon's costumes had light elements which were turned on for the finale of the play. There were child actors in the production who were also costumed as fairies. This production was built with the support of 1 costume shop manager and 1 stitcher. There was a 4 week design and build period.

Costume Details: The two sets of couples in the play were visually defined through the colors of their costumes (a pink/purple couple and a blue/green couple). Titania and Oberon had 2 looks - one where they were interacting with the humans and meant to look like professional business people and one where they embraced their "fairy" nature and took on natural elements (like butterflies and moss).
