Production Details: This production took place in a small black box theatre where the audience was very close to actors. The director wanted the costumes to be modern but without any obvious references to time period (logos, graphics, etc). This show was produced with the support of the USD costume shop.

Costume Details: Because the audience was so close to the actors I wanted the costumes to be very textural. My concept was that the characters had mended the pieces over and over again so that the mending looked artistic. I used all natural dye and distressing methods: rust, onion, beets, saffron, etc rather than chemical dyes. The patching, bleaching, and burning is meant to add dimension to the costumes and show beauty in the repair work.
