Cabaret
Costume Design by Caitlin Quinn
Directed by Dr. Joseph Stollenwerk

Production Details: This production was set in the period (1930s) with some anachronism allowed for the Kit Kat Club stage wear. The production had the support of the USD costume shop.

Costume Details: The costume color concept for this production was inspired by the expressionist art of 1930s Germany. The harsh reds, greens, and blues were applied to the black lingerie of the Kit Kat Club boys and girls so the color looked like stains. A costume challenge for this production was the "Money Song" number, which featured members of the ensemble dressed as money from different countries. The "money" costumes were designed to look like seductive stage versions of each currency. The nightmarish costumes of the ensemble at the Kit Kat Club contrasted the lighter colors used in the costumes for Sally and Cliff as they navigated the reality of 1930s Germany.
