Production Details: The director didn't want to set this production in a specific period but rather it to feel like a fashion-inspired version of storybook styles. This production was done with the support of the USD costume shop.

Costume Details: The costume concept for this production was colorful, whimsical, with modern influences. The costumes were inspired by many different periods but all incorporated modern silhouettes or accessories. I mixed patterns and texture to show the character's journey. For example: Little Red has a simple shift dress and knee socks for the first act to reference a class school girl look. Then, in Act 2, when she kills the wolf she steals his belt, boots, and make a shawl of his pelt to adding leather and fur. Another example is the witch; she wears a full woven robe with a matted shawl for most of Act 1, and then when she transforms it's into a sleek modern leather jumpsuit. The transformation was done onstage by rigging her robe to retract into a bustle. Her prosthetics were switched to a mask before the transformation and the mask was attached to robe so it came off at the same time.
